Tweets from the 219th meeting of the AAS
Can we divine anything from the Twitter stream of the 219th meeting of the AAS?
Note that the AAS has declared #aas219 as the official hash-tag for the meeting (it's case insensitive, so you can use #AAS219 too), and they also have a page of links, blogs, tweets, and other resources about the meeting.
-
How did I collect the tweets?
-
When did people tweet about AAS 219?
-
What were the most-popular words used to describe the meeting (unfortunately awesome seems to have dropped out of the running)?
-
Who was tweeting, rather than listening to, the meeting?
-
A quick look at who talked about or to who; this is similar to the 'graphical view' below but is not a live version;
-
an archive and analysis of #AAS219 tweets using the Archivist site, which can be compared to the #AAS218 version;
-
a graphical view of the people tweeting about #AAS219 (now that the meeting is over I expect this to paint a rather lonely picture).
The archivist site only gets updated once per day at most (it may have been more frequent during the conference, once people really started tweeting) and the the visualization of links between people is limited to "recent" tweets.
