Hello, and welcome to my website. I'm a 4th-year graduate student at Harvard University, working on X-ray and multiwavelength observations of black holes and neutron stars in the Milky Way. I spend most of my time doing high resolution X-ray spectroscopy with space telescopes like Chandra and XMM-Newton with the help of my thesis advisor, Prof. Julia Lee. Here find information on my research, possibly some photos, and other things that I find interesting. However, this page is still under construction, so please bear with me if something doesn't work!

Contact Information

The easiest way to reach me is by email, which I check frequently. My CfA email address is jneilsen@cfa.harvard.edu. You can also find me (most of the time) in my office at the CfA. Currently, I'm in office A-110 at the 60 Garden Street complex. My office phone number is (617) 495-8348.
